Vintage Baelz oil pump lamp in Llandough, Vale of Glamorgan for sale
Vintage Baelz oil pump beautifully restored and converted into an amazing piece of useable artwork. The pump was destined for the scrap bin so it was rescued with the intention of keeping the "patina" but it was too far gone. The pump was spirit cleaned and painstaking descaled with a wire brush. It has peen painted with tough epoxy red paint and the unpainted steel parts have been coated with clear lacquer.The paintwork has been enhanced with a vintage Shell tough vinyl transfer which really looks great. Sat on a solid oak hand turned base really finishes the restoration/presentation off. The internals of the pump have been removed as were shot to bits and to provide a clear route for cable. The cable is the latest version of vintage silk wound style made in the uk ( not cheap rubbish ). Modern 3 core cable with correct earthing at the lamp holder and on the pump body itself. Modern 3 pole switch (switched live and neutral + 1 earth terminal.) Supplied with fitted black UK plug and 3A fuse. 240v. Vintage Edison squirrel cage bulb supplied. Would look great in any man cave,shop,bar,restaurant or just a feature of your living room.
